During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.

Please note: NCI Canvey Island was previously know as NCI Holehaven and moved location on Monday 18 October 2021. All NCI Canvey Island Incident Summaries before that date will be in respect of NCI Holehaven at its previous location.

50046 13/06/2024 NCI Bembridge Vessel informed HMCG of an upturned catamaran, no-one visible. May Day issued. NCI asked for visual - negative, but monitoring requested. AWLB tasked, NCI advised CG they had visual., Race control advised details of casualty. LB located casualty and advised it was dismasted, 1 POB and a trimaran. 50053 13/06/2024 NCI Whitstable 2 catamarans launched and one capsized 100mtrs from shore. Unable to right boat, despite assistance. RIB from local dredger helped right the vessel. 50003 09/06/2024 NCI Rhoscolyn NCI observed a small gorse fire close to the lookout. W/K doused fire and it appeared to be out. The fire then reignited and continued to smoulder despite further attempt to extinguish. HMCG informed., Fire service consulted and W/Ks advised to leave lookout. 49980 05/06/2024 NCI Torbay NCI observed a speedboat heading for wild swimmer. Attempts by NCI, and others to contact vessel were made, and eventually it altered course. Swimmer returned safely. NCI No No n/a

49997 05/06/2024 NCI Felixstowe NCI observed a yacht aground at river entrance, just after high tide. HMCG informed. Several FVs tried to assist, without success. 49954 03/06/2024 NCI Boscastle HMCG called NCI re. vessel lost power, but it was out of visual range. NCI later established visual as visibility improved. 49977 03/06/2024 NCI St Donat's Bay MOP reported to HMCG concern for a swimmer. CG called NCI who reported swimmer had left slipway, well equipped and had been monitored. Swimmer returned to safety of slipway, CG advised. MCA/HMCG No Yes 518443
