16th June 2016. During the second weekend in June the Daimler & Lanchester Owners Club held their 2016 Annual International Rally at Tregenna Castle in St Ives. This year the event was organised by Kevin and Anne Monk and, as Kevin is a watchkeeper at Cape Cornwall, they wanted to use the event as an opportunity to raise awareness of the role of the National Coastwatch Institution and also raise some money for the station.

One of the highlights of the weekend was a dinner at Tregenna Castle Hotel on the Saturday and it was decided that there would by a raffle with the proceeds going to NCI Cape Cornwall. Anne persuaded many local businesses to donate raffle prizes, and the tickets were sold immediately following the dinner and a presentation about the work of NCI Cape Cornwall.The raffle raised over £500 which is a significant contribution towards Cape Cornwalls purchase of a CCTV system.

Earlier that day, Cape Cornwall’s fundraising team had been busy with collections being held at Asda supermarket on Hayle and Morrisons supermarket in Penzance which raised a further £300.
