During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.


Please note: NCI Canvey Island was previously know as NCI Holehaven and moved location on Monday 18 October 2021. All NCI Canvey Island Incident Summaries before that date will be in respect of NCI Holehaven at its previous location.

58085 30/07/2026 NCI Charmouth MOP informed NCI a person had fallen in the car park, and had a suspected broken ankle. W/K investigated, and was told an ambulance had been called. HMCG informed, but CRT already deployed, elsewhere. NCI phoned local GP for advice, but no-one available. Casualty was taken to hospital by parents, CG updated. NCI No Yes
58080 30/07/2026 NCI Worms Head NCI observed 2 MOP on island after causeway was closed. HMCG informed. CRT and ILB tasked. NCI called casualties and advised to stay on island. One casualty was staying on island, other one was , recovered by LB and returned to shore. NCI Yes Yes
58087 29/07/2026 NCI Mundesley Yacht issued a Pan Pan - engine and steering failure. Once an accurate position was established, NCI reported to HMCG they had visual. Vessel offered assistance until LB arrived. LB took casualty, under tow to safety of harbour. All safe. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
58051 29/07/2026 NCI Shoreham MOP called NCI re. upturned boat, 1 person had swum ashore, 2 possibly in the water. NCI informed HMCG, vessel not visible to NCI. CG reported all casualties were okay, NFA. NCI No Yes
58055 29/07/2026 NCI Brancaster MOP called NCI re. a missing child. Initial search carried out, HMCG informed, CRT tasked. Search revealed a child answering the description, in the company of two adults. Identity confirmed, CG , updated, assets stood down NCI No Yes
58056 29/07/2026 NCI Torbay May Day was issued from a sinking jetski. Nearby vessel offered to assist, NCI informed HMCG they had visual. Casualty and jetski were rescued by vessel, CG updated, May Day cancelled. MCA/HMCG No Yes
58057 29/07/2026 NCI Torbay MOP called NCI re. a paddle boarder in difficulty. NCI searched, but situation unclear. HMCG informed. After new information, NCI searched again, and saw 3 people in the water, monitoring requested., All three, and their boards, were recovered by a small vessel, CG updated. NCI No Yes
58058 29/07/2026 NCI Folkestone MOP reported to NCI a paddle boarder had fallen off and was having difficulty in getting back on. HMCG informed. NCI instigated a search, then the informant phoned to say the casualty was safe and , ashore. CH updated. NCI No Yes

58061 29/07/2026 NCI Calshot Tower NCI observed a yacht aground, HMCG informed. Vessel crew then deployed anchor and pulled himself into deeper water and resumed passage. CG updated. NFA. NCI No Yes
58062 29/07/2026 NCI St Ives LGs raised concerns for an inflatable, 3 POB, with outboard. NCI had visual, occupants appeared to be waving, HMCG informed. ILB tasked, checked vessel, all was fine, NFA. NCI Yes Yes
58069 29/07/2026 NCI Felixstowe MOP called NCI re. jet skis in vicinity of swimmers. NCI informed Police, who said they would attend. Jetskis remained in the area but further offshore. NCI No No
58081 29/07/2026 NCI Cleethorpes HMCG called NCI asking for visual on 3 children reported in the water - negative, so monitoring requested. ILB tasked to search, then casualties were reported to be ashore and safe. NFA. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
58044 28/07/2026 NCI Worms Head MOP reported a missing child to NCI. HMCG informed, CRT tasked. Police HELO and ILB involved. Missing child was found by a MOP and brought to the lookout, CG informed, Police collected child, and returned them to parents. NCI Yes Yes
58045 28/07/2026 NCI Whitstable NCI monitored a call from a cabin cruiser to HMCG, vessel taking on water. DSC alert received - relayed to CG. ILB tasked. LB attended casualty, NCI stood dow. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
58046 28/07/2026 NCI Brancaster NCI observed 2 adults and 1 child cut off by tide. One casualty attempted to wade across, but water too deep. NCI contacted a ranger on the island, who confirmed assistance required. HMCG informed , CRT and RNLI Hovercraft tasked, and recovered casualties to the shore and safety. NCI Yes Yes
58054 28/07/2026 NCI Cape Cornwall HMCG called NCI asking for location of a vessel, 3 POB, which had lost power. Position was confirmed, and a passing vessel had undertaken a tow, CG updated. MCA/HMCG No Yes
58032 27/07/2026 NCI Cleethorpes 2 children reported to NCI Cleethorpes that Mother and sister missing - Children spotted them on the beach and were reunited NCI No Yes
58036 27/07/2026 NCI Newhaven HMCG called NCI re. reports of concern for the occupants of a RIB. Scan revealed nothing, but continued search was requested. NCI observed a small inflatable, 2 POB, attached to a line to the beach, , CG updated. Incident closed. MCA/HMCG No Yes
58014 26/07/2026 NCI Canvey Island POL called in to CI NCI re missing female threatening suicide at a yacht club - nothing seen. POL walked to marsh - nothing found NCI asked to lookout and report, CG called CI NCI tasking to keep lookout re missing person and report any findings. 58015 26/07/2026 NCI Hengistbury Head HHNCI observed Speedboat with apparent engine problems 3POB= Call from CG asking if we had eyes on - confirmed and gave exact position- request to monitor - informed that casualty arranged help, NCI advised CG casualty appeared to be under tow by jet ski - heading E JET ski also broke down. ILB tasked - NCI conned to casualties - towed all to harbour MCA/HMCG Yes Yes

58022 26/07/2026 NCI Prawle Point Pan Pan heard by NCI Prawle Point faint signal - heard bt RN yachts who headed to poss position and established VHF contact. NCI contacted CG who had not heard, confirmed that heard comms between assisting Yachts. 50829 26/07/2026 NCI Bass Point CG reported a call from MOP re yacht adrift off Cadgwith. NCI Bass Point called CG reported logging a Yacht without AIS - seen drifting towards Bass Point, apparently unmanned - informed CG. Crewmember appeared and motored East - informed CG MCA/HMCG No Yes
58030 26/07/2026 NCI St Donat's Bay RNLI LG called NCI St Donat's re possible swimmer in danger - scanned but no sign - people on cliff. 58041 26/07/2026 NCI Porthcawl HMCG called NCI asking for a scan of area, following a report of paddle boarders in difficulty. Red flare also sighted. ILB tasked.
