During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.


Please note: NCI Canvey Island was previously know as NCI Holehaven and moved location on Monday 18 October 2021. All NCI Canvey Island Incident Summaries before that date will be in respect of NCI Holehaven at its previous location.

53316 10/05/2025 NCI Stone Point Yacht reported a RIB in difficulty, NCI contacted by HMCg, they had visual. Yacht reported RIB was being towed to shore, yacht resumed its passage. RIB then moved off. NFA MCA/HMCG No Yes 014788

53318 10/05/2025 NCI Worms Head HMCG called NCI for update on 2 MOP reported starnded by partner. NCI confirmed 3 MOP had informed NCI they were staying on island overnight. NCI had not seen 2 others. ILB tasked to do , shore patrol, no sign. CG contacted the 2 MOP who had thought to play a joke on partners, but did not realise emergency services would be tasked. 53310 09/05/2025 NCI Canvey Island HMCG called NCI and asked them to look for a vessel in distress following a distress signal. Vessel located by CCTV, a RIB with 5 POB and one pulling it through the mud. CG informed. ILB and CRT , tasked. 53276 07/05/2025 NCI St Alban's Head MOP reported to NCI an unresponsive person on coast path, gave W3W address. 2 W/Ks went to scene with first aid kit (incl defib). 53304 06/05/2025 NCI Hornsea MOP called NCI to report a swimmer, considered to be a possible suicide risk. HMCG informed, monitoring requested. Informant then came to station with more detail, and casualties history. Casualty , was then reported to be in local pub, and was met there by original informant. CG informed assets stood down.
