13 Apr 2011 - NCI Gosport was pleased to welcome the Worshipful the Mayor of Gosport for an official visit to the station on 4 April. The Mayor, Councillor Roger Allen and Mayoress Mrs Jill Allen, pictured with Deputy Station Manager Graham Piggott, were given a number of short presentations about the work of the station, its current training programmes and initiatives as well as the history and development of NCI as a whole.

Committee members then showed the Mayor and Mayoress around the watchtower itself at Fort Blockhouse where they were able to meet the duty watchkeepers and see how they operate. Councillor Allen commented how impressed he was by the dedication of the volunteers and the high level of professionalism and competence they demonstrated in carrying out their duties. He also undertook to promote the interests of NCI wherever possible within his area of responsibility.
