NCI LYME BAY PRAISED FOR THEIR DEDICATION.

20th October 2016.  The Brit Valley Rotary Club was enthralled by a presentation from three members of their local station at NCI  Lyme Bay.

Eddie Murphy, Judi Gifford and Leslie Neilson, all members of the station that overlooks Burton Bradstock beach, talked about their role they play as volunteers in keeping a lookout on the sea and the coast, which has seen NCI Lyme Bay being awarded by the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. The three speakers described the continuing development of the charity, the need for equipment, the training of new members and the fact that, as a charitable organisation, there is a need for funding. They also included a video presentation about the National Coastwatch and its activity around the country.

The club was impressed by the quality of the work of the station at Lyme Bay, their dedication and with the National Coastwatch Institution as a whole. In thanking them for their absorbing presentation, Rotarian Phil Payne said that the Rotary Club, being an organisation serving the community, paid tribute to Coastwatch in their commitment to public service.
