27th June 2017. The Northern Boat Show took place in Liverpool on Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th June and the NCI had our exhibition stand at Salthouse Dock Quayside.

The Northern Boatshow is a celebration of all things boating at the heart of the Mersey River Festival in Liverpool and the NCI stand was manned daily by various Trustees and teams of watchkeepers from NCI Rossall Point supported by volunteers from other stations.

This was the first opportunity the NCI has had to exhibit in the North West and it is hoped that our presence drew attention to the existence and work of the NCI in North Wales and North-West England. Despite the weather being less than perfect, the event was very well attended and the NCI stand proved to be very popular with the visitors to the event.

The event coincided with the Armed Forces Day parade on Saturday which was attended by HRH the Earl of Wessex and the Prime Minister, although sadly neither were able to visit the exhibition!

The event proved to be a success for the NCI and we have already booked our place for the 2018 show which will formpart of the Liverpool Mersey Festival and Tall Ships gathering.
