QAVS PRESENTED TO NCI IN LINCOLNSHIRE

17 September 2013  The Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire along with the High Sheriff and watched by leaders of the local councils from around Mablethorpe and Skegness, presented the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service to NCI Skegness and NCI Mablethorpe at a ceremony at the Bacchus Hotel, Sutton on Sea.

This prestigious award, the equivalent of an MBE, is in recognition of the dedicated and valuable service both teams provide to the local communities of Mablethorpe and Skegness.

Messages of congratulation were read by Mr Ian Whalley, the local NCI Trustee. These included sources as diverse as NCI's patron and Olympic gold medallist Dr Katherine Grainger CBE extolling the good work done by the crews of both lookouts.

Both teams are looking for further volunteers to join their ranks.
