YARMOUTH HARBOUR COMMISSIONERS SUPPORT NATIONAL COASTWATCH

19th January 2018. Yarmouth Harbour Commissioners have voted to support the National Coastwatch Needles station with an annual grant towards their vital work in keeping mariners safe by maintaining a lookout at the Needles and Solent western approaches and as an essential link in the maritime search and rescue organisation for those in danger.

Tony Stables, the Station Manager at NCI Needles said: “The generosity of the Commissioners is very much appreciated, as a purely voluntary service we rely on public donations to help us in our work” Tim Adams, Harbour Master who presented the cheque on behalf of the Commissioners, said “Our organisations share a common goal which is to keep a watchful eye over seafarers and promote safe navigation. I am pleased that the Commissioners are in a position to support such a worthy cause and I look forward to working with the Needles NCI in the future”. Charlotte Rayner said “We are very grateful indeed for this donation by Yarmouth Harbour Commissioners, it will make all the difference”
