During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.

Please note: NCI Canvey Island was previously know as NCI Holehaven and moved location on Monday 18 October 2021. All NCI Canvey Island Incident Summaries before that date will be in respect of NCI Holehaven at its previous location.

49688 12/05/2024 NCI Torbay HMCG asked NCI to look for possible casualties on rocks. Nothing seen, ILB and CRT tasked, and ILB saw 4 casualties, who were recovered by ILB. Apparently 3 others had self rescued. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes 515181

49699 12/05/2024 NCI Porthcawl NCI received call from HMCG re. police search for vulnerable adult. Nothing seen but search continued, CRT also searching. Police then confirmed casualty had been found, camera linked to scene. , Casualty taken away by ambulance. MCA/HMCG No Yes 515155

49656 09/05/2024 NCI Cape Cornwall NCI were observing a kayaker fishing when he capsized, and was separated from kayak. HMCG informed. Casualty struggled to get on board, but eventually succeeded and reached safety. NFA NCI No Yes n/a
49673 09/05/2024 NCI Porthcawl HMCG issued alert re. person fallen down cliff. NCI asked for visual, but visibility poor. ILB (x2), clothes found at top of cliff, HELO tasked. Casualty located at bottom of cliff, and taken to LB , slip to meet air ambulance. NCI asked for visual link to HELO landing site. Casualty transferred to air ambulance, and hospital. 49596 06/05/2024 NCI Cape Cornwall NCI observed a RIB apparently no-one on board. HMCG informed, and two yachts reported to be close by. yachts asked to investigate,, but AWLB tasked, which located vessel. Kill cord in place, fishing , gear on board, and plotter revealed it had come from Brittany. French said they had been looking for vessel, as the crew had fallen overboard, but rescued safe and well.
