12th July 2016. The newly appointed Chairman of the National Coastwatch Institution, Lesley Suddes, visited NCI Caister today.
The NCI station at Caister opened in 2011 and is unique amongst NCI stations in that it is situated within an operational lifeboat station operated by the Caister Volunteer Lifeboat Service. This has led to a very close working relationship between the two organisations.
This week, Lesley Suddes travelled up from Cornwall to visit the National Coastwatch stations along the Norfolk coast and on Tuesday called in to visit the station at Caister and meet some of the watchkeepers. She was very impressed by how much Caister has grown over the last five years and delighted with the close working relationship between the lifeboat service and the NCI.
The photograph shows Lesley and some of the team from NCI Caister in the watchstation.
