21st October 2016. Earlier this month NCI Polruan featured prominently on the BBC daytime program ‘Escape to the Country’.

‘Escape to the Country’ is a series in which helps prospective buyers find their dream home in the country and is shown on BBC1 television on Tuesdays at 15:00hrs. In this episode a couple were shown several properties in Cornwall and also expressed an interest in finding out more about the NCI. As a result , they were taken to visit NCI Polruan where they were met by Richard Hews. Richard took them on a tour of the watch station and explained the history and role of the National Coastwatch Institution both at Polruan and nationally.
