CRAFT FAIR SUPPORTS NCI NELLS POINT

3rd December 2016. The final Enfys Craft Fair of the year was held on Saturday, 3rd December  at St Francis Millennium Hall in Barry and Enfys were pleased to announce that the Barry Island branch of the National Coastwatch Institution was selected as their charity for December.

Nell's Point Coastwatch station, the first NCI station established on the Welsh coast, is built on the site of a derelict coastguard station and was built to a high standard thanks to funding from the Welsh Assembly Government and the Vale of Glamorgan Council. Nell's Point station is located between Whitmore Bay and Jackson's Bay following the path from the beach.

The National Coastwatch Institution is a voluntary organisation, set up in 1994 to restore a visual watch around the UK shores. The watchkeepers are the eyes and ears along the coast and remain vigilant at all times, trained to act in an emergency and if required, coordinate with the search and rescue services,
