30th August 2019. Sixty-four volunteer watchkeepers past, present and guests celebrated twenty years of St Ives providing eyes along the coast.

The twentieth anniversary celebration took place at the West Cornwall Golf Club. This  milestone coincided with the 25th anniversary of the National Coastwatch Institution whose chair Lesley Suddes joined the buffet night along with Councillor Tony Harris, the Mayor of St Ives. Lesley presented 20-year long-service certificates to Trevor Hoskins and Geoff Langford - the only two original watchkeepers who are still with NCI St Ives. She also paid tribute to the work of the 50-plus volunteers when she said: "It's really good to see so many of you here. It's been a very impressive 20 years. Like most of our stations, St Ives started with something very modest and you have built it up to be something very impressive. NCI St Ives is a very smart, efficient station. I see your inspection and incident reports and if it comes from St Ives it's brilliant."

A few years ago the station raised £8,000 to provide a camera to monitor Hayle Estuary and Lesley added: "You are also at the forefront of the camera technology which is becoming a great asset to many NCI stations."
