NCI Portland Bill is a recipient of the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service. (QAVS)

NCI Portland Bill is situated at an elevation of 50 metres above sea level approximately 750 metres north of the Portland Bill Lighthouse.

Portland Race, The Shambles Bank, and steep cliffs. The Coastal Path runs past the lookout.

Visual features of station
The lookout is built on the site of the original Coastguard Tower which was rebuilt in 2006 as a brick/metal framed building clad in white. The tower has a flagstaff.
