Incident Summary:
NCI observed a small vessel towing a yacht. The towing vessel lost the tow a few minutes later, HMCG informed. No-one visible on towed vessel. Comms were then heard saying they were waiting for the
weather to improve. CG updated. NCI then observed the yachts foresail had broken loose, and mast parted company. CG updated. Several attempts were made to reattach the tow. Tow vessel then informed
VTS the yacht was sinking, and after it sank, the towing vessel returned to port. NFA
