Incident Summary:
HMCG reported a spoken MayDay had been heard from a light aircraft about to ditch. ILB tasked to search, and Pan Pan issued to all vessels. NCI asked by CG to keep a lookout. HELO also tasked.
No evidence of any plane crash was found, terminology used in message was suspect. NCI were sure they would have seen an aircraft ditch, thought to be a hoax call.
