During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.


Please note: NCI Canvey Island was previously know as NCI Holehaven and moved location on Monday 18 October 2021. All NCI Canvey Island Incident Summaries before that date will be in respect of NCI Holehaven at its previous location.

53602 07/06/2025 NCI Prawle Point NCI observed a MOP on the rocks, possibly cut off by tide. HMCG informed, observation maintained. CH later updated all clear, person safe NCI No Yes
53580 06/06/2025 NCI Needles May Day from yacht reporting man overboard. HMCG called NCI, who could see vessel but not casualty. Vessel then radioed to say casualty had been recovered but were concerned for their health. CH HELO , and AWLB tasked, with doctor and nurse on board. casualty reported to be stable, so LB escorted vessel back to port, and CRT transferred casualty to ambulance. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
53581 06/06/2025 NCI Wells-next-the-Sea NCI observed a MOP unaware of incoming tide. HMCG informed. Casualty then waded waist deep to safety, CG updated. ILB lunch cancelled. NCI No Yes
53590 06/06/2025 NCI Porthcawl NCI observed an unattended inflatable being blown away. HMCG informed, MOP also called CG. Dinghy then washed up on beach, NFA NCI No Yes
53606 06/06/2025 NCI Stone Point Pan Pan issued by yacht with loss of steering. NCI advised HMCG they had visual, 7 POB, sails down and anchor deployed. Vessel appeared to be aground. ILB and CRT tasked, but LB unable to refloat , vessel. Vessel then refloated, but with some water ingress, and was towed to harbour by LB. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
53569 05/06/2025 NCI Llandudno MOP informed NCI youths were bodyboarding, not safety equipment, in a dangerous location. HMCG informed, youths advised. Harbour authority mobile advised youths, and activity stopped. CG updated. NCI No Yes

53547 01/06/2025 NCI Gosport HMCG tasked ILB to assist a yacht with engine failure. LB and yacht could not see each other, NCI gave CG position of both vessels, and monitored until LB found casualty. LB assisted yacht to , marina and safety. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes

53495 31/05/2025 NCI Hengistbury Head HMCG called NCI re. report from MOP of a wing foiler, out with a friend, causing concern. NCI had visual, and had been monitoring. One was in the water, and not making attempt to get back up. Fishing , charter called on Ch65 offering assistance. NCI advised ILB had been tasked, fishing boat took casualty on board, NCI conned ILB to casualty, and casualty was recovered to shore by ILB, and treated, ashore for hypothermia. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
53496 31/05/2025 NCI Worms Head NCI observed 2 MOP approaching island, tide coming in. Siren sounded but no effect. ! other seen but they were overnighting. HMCG informed, 2 casualties then returned, one of which was assisted by , local fisherman. All safe, CG informed. NCI No Yes
53500 31/05/2025 NCI Chapel Point NCI observed a canoe, 1 adult and 1 child on board, drifting out to sea. HMCG informed. CRT and ILB tasked. Casualties reached shore and CRT met them to offer advice. Both safe and well. NCI Yes Yes
