During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.


Please note: NCI Canvey Island was previously know as NCI Holehaven and moved location on Monday 18 October 2021. All NCI Canvey Island Incident Summaries before that date will be in respect of NCI Holehaven at its previous location.

Potter identified, 1 POB, all appeared well, however after further search was -ve, returned to potter and it had been reported as having a problem. ILB towed potter to harbour. 41654 20/04/2022 NCI Rhoscolyn NCI observed canoe with 3 POB struggling against tide. 2 vessels in area. HMCG informed of NCI concern. NCI continued to monitor, and eventually casualties made way to safety. W/K checked on them. NCI No Yes 009519

41617 19/04/2022 NCI Rame Head Motor boat with 1 POB suffered engine failure near Eddystone. Occupant called HMCG by phone. NCI unable to establish visual. 41577 17/04/2022 NCI Hengistbury Head NCI observed speed boat aground on falling tide. Boat informed HMCG, NCI told CG they had visual. Casualty happy to wait for rising tide, NCI maintained monitoring, and kept CG informed., Contact maintained throughout, and casualty eventually refloated, and made way to harbour without assistance. 41586 17/04/2022 NCI Newhaven May Day reporting man overboard from small dinghy close to harbour. 2 persons still on board. Reporting vessel too small to recover casualty, but standing by. NCI reported to HMCG that had visual., casualty into open dinghy, but vessel taking on water. NCI maintained visual. Dinghy restated motor and reached safety, escorted by reporting vessel. All safe. 41645 17/04/2022 NCI Nare Point HMCG caller NCI re. a missing RIB, due to be diving. Other vessel reported to CG the RIBs location, and was apparently safe. MCA/HMCG No Yes 009093
