During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.


Please note: NCI Canvey Island was previously know as NCI Holehaven and moved location on Monday 18 October 2021. All NCI Canvey Island Incident Summaries before that date will be in respect of NCI Holehaven at its previous location.

45395 07/04/2023 NCI Porthcawl NCI monitored 3 surfers in RIP current. @ managed to get back to safe zone, third heading for rocks. HMCG informed. 45366 04/04/2023 NCI Worms Head MOP reported to NCI an elderly person had fallen on rocks, head injury. HMCG informed, advised not to move casualty. Passing doctor treated casualty, who had moved to top of path, and was taken, to hospital from car park. NCI No Yes

45350 02/04/2023 NCI Hengistbury Head MOP reported to NCI a distressed person on cliff edge. W/K walked to location and found the casualty having a panic attack and being looked after by a friend. No assistance required., Police then arrived following call from MOP and were taken to location by W/K. Casualty gone away. NCI No No

45324 31/03/2023 NCI Porthcawl Police requested NCI look for vulnerable person, whose car had been left at car park. Visibility poor but search carried out. HMCG informed. Nothing seen. Casualty found safe and well., Car had broken down and left at car park. Police No Yes

45245 19/03/2023 NCI Lee-on-the-Solent NCI observed fishing vessel sounding horn, waving and flashing lights. HMCG informed. LB tasked. It transpired the vessel was trying to attract attention of friend on the shore. Skipper advised. NCI Yes Yes

45259 18/03/2023 NCI Herne Bay NCI reported large lump of masonry fallen from building close to lookout, lying in promenade. Fire Brigade called as other pieces ready to fall. Promenade, and Watch Station evacuated due to danger., Surveyors report awaited before area declared safe to work in, so Station temporarily closed. NCI No Yes
