During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.


Please note: NCI Canvey Island was previously know as NCI Holehaven and moved location on Monday 18 October 2021. All NCI Canvey Island Incident Summaries before that date will be in respect of NCI Holehaven at its previous location.

44587 30/12/2022 NCI Charmouth HMCG phoned NCI re. 2 MsOP possibly cut off by tide. W/K walked to assess situation. Reported to HMCG 2 MOP at base of cliff. CRT and ILB tasked. 44594 30/12/2022 NCI Fleetwood NCI observed a grounded sloop, dragging its anchor and drifting down estuary. HMCG informed. Casualty went out of sight of NCI - inconclusive outcome. NCI No Yes
44601 30/12/2022 NCI Exmouth MOP called NCI re. Fishing vessel which had slipped mooring, no-one on board. NCI had visual. HMCG and Harbour Master informed. Dinghy observed alongside vessel. Casualty able to return to mooring, under its own power. CG informed NCI No Yes
44633 29/12/2022 NCI Swanage MOP informed NCI a lady had fallen and damaged her leg. W/K called ambulance and provided warm clothing. HMCG informed, CRT tasked. Paramedics diagnosed broken leg, requested air ambulance., Casualty evacuated by HELO in under an hour. NCI No Yes
44588 29/12/2022 NCI Mablethorpe Object identified on beach by NCI. HMCG informed, CRT tasked. Object was rolled up fishing net, too heavy to move. Council informed. NCI No Yes
44612 26/12/2022 NCI Bembridge MOP reported to HMCG a PWC rider may be in trouble. % jet bikes observed by NCI. LB asked for visual - negative. Riders observed returning, CG advised. No casualties reported. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes

44441 05/12/2022 NCI Swanage NCI Swanage observed vessel heading towards Peveril Ledge - Watchkeeper went to end of Peveril Point tried to make yacht aware of danger- despite shouting and using air horn , lone sailor did not, alter course.
