During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.


Please note: NCI Canvey Island was previously know as NCI Holehaven and moved location on Monday 18 October 2021. All NCI Canvey Island Incident Summaries before that date will be in respect of NCI Holehaven at its previous location.

40521 19/12/2021 NCI Hengistbury Head HMCG called NCI re. 4 kayakers observed moving near Hengisbury Head. NCI looked for them, and called CG reporting nothing seen. CRT also reported negative sighting. , Car parks checked, nothing found, assumed safe so incident closed. MCA/HMCG No Yes
40511 17/12/2021 NCI Newhaven Police asked NCI for visual on missing person. CCTV search revealed nothing. Ambulance attended, casualty located by Police and taken to hospital. Police No Yes
40498 15/12/2021 NCI Hengistbury Head HMCG informed NCI that a dog had gone over cliff, landed half way down. CRT tasked. W/K monitored situation at scene by radio.Dog recovered by CRT - no injuries. MCA/HMCG No Yes

40425 05/12/2021 NCI Exmouth Unattended kite sail reported to harbourmaster. MOP reported to NCI that owner intended swimming to retrieve it. HMCG requested NCI monitor, but noone entered water. Sail blew out of view. CG informed NCI No Yes
