During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.


Please note: NCI Canvey Island was previously know as NCI Holehaven and moved location on Monday 18 October 2021. All NCI Canvey Island Incident Summaries before that date will be in respect of NCI Holehaven at its previous location.

58277 13/08/2026 NCI Worms Head NCI reported to HMCG the bow of a vessel in the water. CG said another vessel had reported a wreck previously. CRT tasked to investigate. 58282 13/08/2026 NCI Calshot Tower HMCG called NCI re. report of a jet skier in the water, next to a ferry and a RIB. RIB assisted casualty while ferry continued. Casualty was recovered to shore by the RIB, NCI updated. MCA/HMCG No Yes

58266 12/08/2026 NCI St Agnes Head NCI had monitored a kayak, seemingly under control, but being pushed back by wind. Kayak was lost to view, then HMCG called asking NCI to look for a different colour kayak. Nothing was seen. NFA MCA/HMCG No Yes
58267 12/08/2026 NCI Lee-on-the-Solent NCI observed a dismasted yacht, HMCG informed and location supplied. HMCG asked nearby yacht to check if assistance was required. Casualty then started moving under power, and headed for , harbour, CG informed, NCI stood down. Neighbouring NCI station informed casualty was heading their way. Casualty entered harbour and safety. 58254 11/08/2026 NCI Worms Head MOP called to say a person had fallen on rocks, and emergency services had been called. Casualty had head and leg injuries, and was vomiting. HMCG confirmed emergency services had been called. , NCI supplied a first aid kit. CG updated with weather conditions. 58255 11/08/2026 NCI Brancaster NCI observed 2 paddle boarders, who had fallen off and were unable to remount boards,. They were drifting out to sea, HMCG informed, CRT amd Hovercraft tasked. 58264 11/08/2026 NCI Canvey Island NCI observed a motor boat, 5 POB, anchor and persons set up beach picnic. A large fire was lit, HMCG informed, fire brigade recommended. Fire service decide they cannot intervene, advised Police. , Police advised approach by water was best. Meanwhile persons involved left by boat, having apparently extinguished fire. No smoke visible. 58276 11/08/2026 NCI Padstow HMCG called NCI re. report of 5 MOP stranded on an estuary sandbank.NCI confirmed visual, and CG confirmed they were calling out H.M. boat. 58219 10/08/2026 NCI Shoreham A MOP fell on the breakwater, and MOP phoned for ambulance, but was told of a 2 hour wait. NCI called HMCG, CRT tasked to assess casualty. 58237 10/08/2026 NCI Felixstowe HMCG called NCI re. concern for a yacht, reported to be drifting by MOP, after occupants (adult and 2 children) had rowed ashore in a dinghy. 58247 10/08/2026 NCI Calshot Tower NCI observed a paddle board, 2 POB, no life jackets, drifting into shipping channelHMCG informed, and they contacted harbour master, who was escorting a ship outbound. 58212 09/08/2026 NCI Worms Head NCI observed several MOPs on island, causeway about to close. Siren used, with no response. HMCG informed. 3 casualties then returned across the flooded causeway, and the other three , remained, apparently fishing. NCI No Yes
58216 09/08/2026 NCI Lee-on-the-Solent HMCG tasked local LB to an injured jet skier, NCI located 3 jet skis in the area, informed HMCGMonitoring requested. LB attended, and advised an ambulance was required. Casualty had moderate bleeding, but was conscious. RT tasked and ambulance arranged tomeet at LB station. NCI stood down. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
58220 09/08/2026 NCI Hengistbury Head Pan Pan was issued by a motor vessel with engine problems. NCI saw nothing at given position, however did see a vessel nearby travelling very slowly and with exhaust visible. Correct position given. , NCI advised HMCG of corrected position, monitoring requested. CG spoke with vessels crew, and agreed to downgrade Pan Pan, and monitor progress, NCI stood down. 58273 09/08/2026 NCI Froward Point HMCG called NCI asking for visual on a broken down cabin cruiser. NCI confirmed visual, and told CG there was a trimaran close by. CG tried to contact trimaran, and Issued a Pan Pan. Trimaran then , tok casualty vessel under tow towards the river. CG advised harbour authority, and asked them to take over tow. NFA MCA/HMCG No Yes
58243 09/08/2026 NCI Torbay MOP reported to NCI a MOP trying to jump the railings towards the cliff. Police had been called, HMCG informed. Police and CRT arrived at scene, CG kept updated. 58244 09/08/2026 NCI Prawle Point A passing yacht called NCI re fire in a field close to road, and cottages. NCI called 999 fore fire service. HMCG informed. NCI suspended operations for safety reasons. Access to NCI station was , closed, and W/Ks had to wait until allowed through by fire service. NCI No Yes

58226 08/08/2026 NCI Porthcawl Concerns were raised to NCI about a person by the pier, who appeared intoxicated. NCI called Police on 999. Casualty became abusive to passers by, NCI monitored situation. Casualty then moved to , marina area, continuing to be abusive. Police arrived, and took casualty into care. NCI No Yes
58196 08/08/2026 NCI Cleethorpes MOP reported to NCI her father was missing, and not answering his phone. Description supplied. HMCG informed. 58197 08/08/2026 NCI Mundesley MOP reported to NCI 6 jet skis manoeuvring dangerously, also 2 4x4 vehicles on the beach. NCI informed Police via 101, but put on hold for 15 minutes until call was abandoned. NCI assumed no action , had been taken. NCI No No
58201 08/08/2026 NCI Portland Bill HMCG issued a Pan Pan rekey re. fishing vessel, 1 POB, with loss of engine and drifting. NCI informed CG they had visual, AWLB tasked. 58206 07/08/2026 NCI Porthcawl HMCG called NCI re. concern for 2 paddle boarders. CCTV scan commenced, and casualties were identified 600mtrs offshore, making very slow progress, monitoring requested. 58215 07/08/2026 NCI Folkestone NCI observed 5 MOPs tombstoning off the pier, HMCG informed. Persons then swam back, and left the pier. NCI No Yes
58187 07/08/2026 NCI Gwennap Head RIB called HMCG reporting a mechanical failure, and requesting a tow to harbour. CG called NCI asking for weather and sea conditions report. Visual of casualty confirmed, also 2 nearby vessels. , NCI advised CG that a ferry was paaproaching the casualty at 20 knots, and suggested an alteration of course - duly done by CG. Casualty was then taken under tow by second vessel, and towed to safety. MCA/HMCG No Yes
