During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.


Please note: NCI Canvey Island was previously know as NCI Holehaven and moved location on Monday 18 October 2021. All NCI Canvey Island Incident Summaries before that date will be in respect of NCI Holehaven at its previous location.

57915 19/07/2026 NCI St Ives MOP reported swimmer in difficulty directly under ST Ives NCI - called CG, MOP took life ring to aid , Casualty managed to scramble on rocks ILB assisted lifeguards. Casualty recovered and walked away-no further help required NCI Yes Yes
57916 19/07/2026 NCI St Ives swimmers observed 2 persons and dog - swell running at 1.5 m - contacted cg who asked NCI to monitor and inform if casualties made it to shore or not, Casualties left the water and not seemed to be in distress - CG called and stood down NCI No Yes
57922 19/07/2026 NCI St Ives WK called CG re Yacht Appearing to be headed for Stones Reef not through Godrevy Sound. CG contacted Yacht informing them of issue, Yacht changed course and passed safely NCI No Yes

57973 19/07/2026 NCI Cape Cornwall Pan Pan from sailing vessel fouled in fishing gear - second vessel offered to turn back to assist - NCI Cape Cornwall contacted CG informing them of Pan Pan and have visual. 57921 17/07/2026 NCI Fleetwood NCI Fleetwood observed 2 females and dogs walking across the channels. WK went to roof with megaphone -they appeared to turn back then changed direction again, WK again went to roof with megaphone - they started to return- Called CG casualties started walking across channel - water upto chest. 57892 17/07/2026 NCI Wooltack Point 3 kayaks with 4POB were observed having difficulty crossing Jack Sound - monitored until out of sight. WK went along to edge - spotted casualties who asked for help. WK radioed lookout and , NCI contacted CG who tasked AWL and ILB with lat/long. 57897 16/07/2026 NCI Porthcawl NCI Porthcawl heard CH00 CRT tasked to Trcco Bay following report of missing female. NCI scanned with CCTV nothing seen - contacted CG and asked to continue , @nd CRT and LB tasked. Police asked if NCI had spotted anything. NCI spotted lone female advised not the casualty -continued scanning. CG contacted NCI - casualty found safe - All stood down MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
57898 16/07/2026 NCI Porthcawl NCI Porthcawl Contacted CG advising them that a person trying to rescue a parrot was now stuck on pier. WK went to speak to casualty and ascertained unable to to ascend to safety. Advised not to jump, as rocks belowILB launched but unable to assist owing to tide.. CRT Fire Service also now on scene. Managed to get casualty on ILB -returned to LB station. Casualty and a friend became abusive and, police removed. All stood down NCI Yes Yes

57896 15/07/2026 NCI Porthcawl NCI Porthcawl contacted by MOP re two people may be cut off Dunraven Bay. Using CCTV spotted two persons with high tide due. NCI contacted CG and advised of nearby vessel. CG contacted NCi, after comms with vessel that they were climbers and to continue monitoring. ILB on exercise was tasked to check.
