During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.


Please note: NCI Canvey Island was previously know as NCI Holehaven and moved location on Monday 18 October 2021. All NCI Canvey Island Incident Summaries before that date will be in respect of NCI Holehaven at its previous location.

57676 29/06/2026 NCI Prawle Point NCI observed a yacht, in poor condition, passing lookout, and then collided with a local fishing vessel. HMCG informed, skipper of fishing vessel asked if NCI had witnessed incident. Confirmed. , F.V skipper supplied name of yacht skipper, which was passed to CG. Incident reported to crimes toppers, but no interest was shown. NCI No Yes
57635 28/06/2026 NCI Cleethorpes NCI observed 2 persons stranded on a sandbank. HMCG informed. CRT and ILB tasked. LB recovered casualties as channel too deep to cross. All safe. NCI Yes Yes
57722 28/06/2026 NCI Calshot Tower NCI observed an unmanned jet ski, with second jet ski nearby. A vessel radioed for an ambulance for an injured jet skier, who was on board their vessel. NCI advised HMCG they had visual. Casualty was , taken to the pier, ILB tasked and crew boarded vessel to attend casualty and transfer them to the LB station. Ambulance and HELO attended casualty, who had a suspected broken leg. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
57643 28/06/2026 NCI Shoreham MOP reported a missing kayaker to NCI. HMCG informed, continued search requested. NCI established visual at beach, Casualty turned up safe and well, CG updated. NCI No Yes
57647 28/06/2026 NCI Folkestone NCI observed 2 adults and 3 children jumping off a concrete apron into the sea, children having difficulty getting back out of the water. HMCG informed, monitoring requested. Group then left the beach, CG updated. NFA NCI No Yes
57634 27/06/2026 NCI St Donat's Bay HMCG called NCI re. Pan Pan from yacht with engine problem. NCI established visual on a yacht in rough location of casualty. ILB tasked, and towed vessel to safety. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
57598 27/06/2026 NCI Padstow HMCG tasked harbour patrol vessel to assist 3 boys reported stranded on a sand spit. NCI established visual and assured CG they were not in peril. Boys then swam ashore, All safe. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57599 27/06/2026 NCI Filey MsOP reported to NCI their son was missing. Details passed to HMCG, search commenced. Missing child was then found by parent, assets stood down. NCI No Yes
57640 27/06/2026 NCI Portland Bill HMCG asked NCI to look out for a motor cruiser losing fuel, No AIS but had a radio. Pan Pan then issued as vessel was out of fuel. Local dive vessel went to assist and took casualty under tow to port., NCI monitored as they passed, NFA. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57606 27/06/2026 NCI Fleetwood NCI called HMCG re. large group of people on a shingle bank. Monitoring requested. The group then reported a further person, waving arms, and CG asked if NCI had visual - negative. The main group had , a RIB and were waiting for the tide, and would return once tide was suitable. 57607 27/06/2026 NCI Fleetwood HMCG called NCI re report of someone waving arms in the mud beyond shingle bank ( see I/R 57606). NCI did not have visual. CRT and ILB tasked, but found a fisherman, not in trouble. NFA. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
57644 27/06/2026 NCI Mablethorpe HMCG informed NCI 2 teenagers on one paddle board were missing, not seen for an hour. Search with camera initiated. ILB tasked to search shore, and located casualties and recovered then to , LB station. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
57608 27/06/2026 NCI Brancaster NCI observed 2 adults and 1 child on a sandbar, with channel rapidly backfilling. HMCG informed. CRT tasked. Casualties realised they were cut off, and waded back to shore in chest deep water. All Ok. NCI No Yes
57645 27/06/2026 NCI Mablethorpe HMCG called NCI re. report of an unoccupied inflatable from MOP. Object identified, but unable to be certain what it was. CRT attended, and object was identified as an inflatable white swan. NFA. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57611 27/06/2026 NCI Porthcawl HMCG called NCI re. report from MOP of a body boarder in difficulty. NCI identified casualty, but appeared okay. Monitoring requested until out of the water. Casualty self rescued, CG updated. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57612 27/06/2026 NCI Porthcawl NCI called HMCG re. concern for 4 MOP cut off by tide in a cove. CG updated to say one person in the water, and four in the cove. CRT and ILB tasked. LB contacted casualties (6 in total), who were , to wait for the tide to ebb so they could walk back. NFA. NCI Yes Yes
57613 27/06/2026 NCI Cleethorpes A beach safety call was issued re. 2 missing teenagers, NCI started search of area as requested by HMCG. Missing casualties were then found, assets stood down. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57614 27/06/2026 NCI Cleethorpes MOP requested assistance from NCI re. a MOP with a head injury after a fall. HMCG informed,CRT attended, and casualty was handed over to paramedics for transfer to hospital. NCI No Yes
57615 27/06/2026 NCI Cleethorpes MOP asked NCI for assistance re. MOP scalded by hot water. HMCG tasked CRT, who took over care of casualty. Ambulance and Police attended, NCI assisted with access due to large crowds. , Casualty was taken by ambulance to hospital. NCI No Yes
57616 27/06/2026 NCI Cleethorpes MOP brought a lost child to the lookout, HMCG informed. Police contacted to say a mother had reported her child was lost. NCI confirmed child was with them, and handed back to mother. NCI No Yes
57617 27/06/2026 NCI Brancaster MOP called NCI re. a metal object sticking out of the sand. W/K attended, and sent photos to HMCG. CRT tasked, suspected ordnance. It was decided object was not dangerous, NFA. NCI No Yes
57618 27/06/2026 NCI Llandudno HMCG called NCI re. report from jet skiers of a vessel on rocks. NCI asked to confirm this was a vessel awaiting salvage, and they identified it as the one. CG updated, and informants told. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57631 27/06/2026 NCI Padstow NCI observed a paddle boarder in difficulty, being blown towards rocks. casualty tried to swim, pulling board. NCI informed HMCG, monitoring continued. Local ski boat attended, ILB tasked and , casualty transferred to LB and taken to safety of beach. NCI Yes Yes
57633 26/06/2026 NCI Ramsgate MOP called NCI re. person in a dinghy with no control. NCI advised HMCG, who already knew of incident. Location supplied. ILB tasked and recovered casualty, who was very seasick. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
57597 26/06/2026 NCI Teignmouth A RIB called HMCG with engine failure. Local vessel offered assistance, NCI had visual and updated position to CG. Casualty was towed to safety bu local vessel, all safe. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57578 26/06/2026 NCI Brancaster NCI observed 2 adults and 2 children cut off on a sandbar. HMCG informed, CRT and Hovercraft tasked. Attempted to contact them by Aldiss lamp failed. A further 5 persons were then seen to be cut off. , Casualties tried to swim to shore, CRT and Hovercraft arrived on scene. All reached the shore and advice was offered. NCI Yes Yes
57646 26/06/2026 NCI Porthcawl NCI observed a paddle board, 2 POB, drifting away from shore, concern expressed to HMCG. Occupants tried to paddle with single paddle, but unable to make headway. CG updated, ILB tasked. , ILB conned to casualties by NCI, and they were recovered by LB. CG updated. All safe NCI No Yes
57648 26/06/2026 NCI Porthcawl MOP reported to NCI a possible missing swimmer. Informant advised to call HMCG. ILB was returning from a tasking, and was asked to search. NCI searched with bins and CCTV.Nothing found. , After extensive search, nothing was found, and assumed to have returned to safety. NCI Yes Yes
57581 26/06/2026 NCI Swanage General call was issued re. sailing vessel with sail and engine failure. NCI asked to monitor by HMCG. A local vessel assisted, and towed casualty to safety. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57582 26/06/2026 NCI Felixstowe MOP informed NCI an infaltable dinghy was unable to return to shore. HMCG informed, monitoring requested. The dinghy then reached shore safely, CG updated. NCI No Yes
57583 26/06/2026 NCI Felixstowe NCI observed a jetski under the pier. HMCG advised, and suggested calling the Police. Police unsure how to proceed, then visited station, and asked NCI to retain video footage. NCI No Yes
57584 26/06/2026 NCI Lyme Bay 2 MOP informed NCI a swimmer had been helped out of the water with a suspected head injury. W/K attended, and found the casualty to have a dislocated shoulder, and suspected dislocated knee. , Casualty was in a lot of pain, but conscious. HMCG informed, but already aware. CRT tasked, and moved casualty to a local cafe, and was then tasked to hospital in a car, as ambulance was unavailable. NCI No Yes
57593 26/06/2026 NCI Porthdinllaen NCI observed a power boat, 7 POB, aground on rocks. No-one wearing lifejackets. HMCG informed, AWLB tasked. Local Fishing boat went to assist and took on board 3 casualties. All casualties were , transferred to LB, and the vessel was refloated, skipper back on board. LB escorted vessel to safety of the shore. All safe. NCI Yes Yes
57594 26/06/2026 NCI Needles HMCG called NCI, re. report from a yacht of a person in the water in distress. Visual requested, but poor visibility so unable to establish visual. Monitoring requested. CG did not deploy assets , and, assumed it was a wind surfer who kept falling off. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57564 25/06/2026 NCI Canvey Island HMCG called NCI asking for a visual search for a windsurf board drifting on the ebbing tide. Nothing seen on CCTV or visual, continued search requested. Nothing was seen before close down. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57566 25/06/2026 NCI Newhaven NCI observed an inflatable, unmanned, drifting and being blown out to sea. . HMCG informed, ILB tasked, and NCI confirmed its location. Dinghy was recovered by LB. NCI Yes Yes
57567 25/06/2026 NCI Exmouth HMCG called NCI re. report of a paddle boarder in distress, search requested. NCI observed a paddle boarder walking on a sandbank. ILB tasked, and NCI monitored until casualty was ashore. CG updated MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
57568 25/06/2026 NCI Lyme Bay NCI observed a yellowfins inflatable being blown along the shore, no person visible. HMCG informed. A paddle board recovered inflatable, but lost to view. CRT attended lookout, and tried to find out , more information, but incident was closed. NCI No Yes
57609 25/06/2026 NCI Porthcawl HMCG issued an alert re. paddle boarders in difficulty, ILB tasked. NCI initiated search with CCTV. NCI identified casualties, and gave CG exact position. Second ILB tasked, and 12 paddle boards were , recovered in multiple trips. All safe. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
