During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.


Please note: NCI Canvey Island was previously know as NCI Holehaven and moved location on Monday 18 October 2021. All NCI Canvey Island Incident Summaries before that date will be in respect of NCI Holehaven at its previous location.

54393 03/08/2025 NCI Bembridge HCG called NCI re. report from MOP of an inflatable, 3 POB causing concern. NCI asked to keep a look out. Nothing seen by NCI, CG updated, and incident closed. MCA/HMCG No Yes
54403 03/08/2025 NCI Portland Bill HMCG called NCI re. report from naval vessel of an unmanned sailing vessel, which appeared to be drifting. NCI established visual, AWLB tasked to attend. NCI kept CG updated. LB located vessel, and , confirmed it was a vessel which had broken its mooring 2 days ago. LB put crew aboard, and towed to harbour and safety. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
54414 03/08/2025 NCI Needles May Day issued by motor cruiser, with engine failure on one of its two engines. vessel tried to head to harbour, alert downgraded to Pan Pan. HMCG requested visual from NCI, but nothing seen by NCI. , NCI requested CG check position, which was then given accurately. Casualty continued to safety of harbour on one engine. MCA/HMCG No Yes
54361 02/08/2025 NCI Fleetwood LGs called NCI with concern for 2 MOP + dogs on sands. NCI had been monitoring and was becoming concerned. HMCG called NCI for update, casualties not showing much concern. Casualties tried to , wade ashore, but water too deep . ILB tasked, crew had to wade to casualties. ILB recovered casualties to shore, checked by CRT. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
54364 02/08/2025 NCI Felixstowe Motor vessel issued Pan Pan, 3 POB, with engine failure. NCI plotted position and informed HMCG they had visual. No sign of distress, CG asked NCI to monitor. ILB tasked, overshot vessel, and were , conned to casualty by NCI. ILB took vessel under tow to port. MCA/HMCG No Yes
54375 02/08/2025 NCI Exmouth NCI observed a paddle boarder plus child, no lifejackets, heading out on outgoing tide. HMCG advised. NCI continued to monitor until paddle boarders returned to shore. NFA. NCI No Yes
54376 02/08/2025 NCI Shoreham As NCI opened lookout, the AWLB was being launched to a sinking vessel. 2 persons in the water. HMCG informed NCI had visual. LB recovered casualties, and transferred them to a waiting ambulance. , A fishing vessel reported sunken hull was just below surface. Marker buoy was placed in position until hull could be recovered. 54389 02/08/2025 NCI Swanage HMCGtasked ILB to a paddle boarder in difficulty. NCI informed CG they had visual. ILB unable to locate casualty, advised to call NCI for position. As ILB reached casualty, they were picked up by a , passing motor cruiser, who took them to the beach and safety. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
54359 01/08/2025 NCI Lyme Bay NCI observed a person in water, struggling to get back to paddle board, falling tide and offshore wind. Second person entered water to help, but not making headway. HMCG informed, CRT tasked. Third, person then swam out to help. Two others swam out to help, and all reached shallow water. CG updated, CRT checked all out. NCI No Yes
54400 01/08/2025 NCI Froward Point Pan Pan issued re. yacht at river mouth with engine failure. Under sail but assistance needed to enter harbour, 2 POB. NCI had visual, and verified position, CG updated. Second vessel went to assist, and took casualty under tow. vessel was safely towed into harbour. MCA/HMCG No Yes
54418 01/08/2025 NCI Polruan NCI observed a yacht in difficulty, no engine or sails, crew waving arms. HMCG informed, position advised. Pan Pan issued. Second yacht responds and commences tow to harbour. At the harbour, mouth, tow was taken over by harbour patrol. Pan pan canceled. NCI No Yes
54355 01/08/2025 NCI Folkestone NCI observed 3 teenagers tombstoning off pier. HMCG informed. CG contacted harbour authorities, NCI asked to monitor. Teenagers then left scene, CG updated, NFA. NCI No Yes
54356 01/08/2025 NCI Worms Head MOP reporter to NCI a person was on causeway with a suspected broken ankle. NCI investigated, and informed HMCG. CRT tasked. Casualties parent, a doctor, diagnoses a probable sprain. , CRT recovered casualty on a stretcher, for forward transfer to hospital by car. NCI No Yes
54540 01/08/2025 NCI Padstow NCI observed a paddle board, 3 POB, heading into potential danger. HMCG and harbour patrol were contacted. Harbour patrol RIB went to check on casualties. Casualties refused assistance, said they , were going to empty water from board. Patrol shadowed them back to safety, and NCI monitored until safely on beach. NCI No Yes
54350 31/07/2025 NCI Porthcawl NCI observed a casualty being carried out of water, LGs assisting. HMCG informed, LGs carried out CPR, and requested HELO. CRT tasked. NCI gave weather update. HELO arrived on beach, paramedics , attended casualty, Second HELO (CG ) also arrived at beach, along with Police. Sadly, casualty was declared deceased, and was taken by CRT to ambulance. 54358 31/07/2025 NCI Portland Bill NCI observed a yacht loose its genoa sail, which was flying free. 1 POB. HMCG informed. AWLB tasked, and took vessel under tow to marina. NCI Yes Yes
54327 30/07/2025 NCI Folkestone NCI observed a wind surfer I difficulty, HMCG informed. CG tried to call Fishing vessel to ask to help. Casualty still struggling, ILB and CRT tasked. NCI then updated CG - casualty was wading towards, the beach, CRT met casualty, who was uninjured. NFA NCI Yes Yes
54339 30/07/2025 NCI Cape Cornwall NCI observed 2 MOP walking the coast path in a dangerous position on cliffs. HMCG informed, monitoring requested. They then erected a tent on the cliff edge, CG updated. ILB, already on exercise, , was tasked to investigate, but could not see casualties. No changes were observed before lookout closed. 54348 30/07/2025 NCI Porthcawl Yacht issued a Pan Pan re. broken rudder, and aground. NCI called HMCG with update. 2 POB, visible and aground at bay. Monitoring requested. ILB and CRT tasked. ILB advised a second yacht was in , danger of going aground. Second yacht then ran aground, 2 POB and issued Pan Pan. Second ILB tasked. 54309 28/07/2025 NCI Folkestone NCI observed 2 jet skis travelling very fast in beach area. HMCG informed. Jetskis then travelled towards harbour. CG updated. NCI No Yes
54310 28/07/2025 NCI Folkestone NCI observed 6 youths tombstoning off pier. HMCG informed, CRT tasked. Youths departed when team arrived. NFA. NCI No Yes
54311 28/07/2025 NCI Folkestone NCI observed 6 youths tombstoning off pier. HMCG informed. Harbour company personal intervened and youths left pier. CG updated. Second such incident that day. NCI No Yes
54324 28/07/2025 NCI Fleetwood HMCG called NCI re. object seen on sands - confirmed to be debris, however NCI informed CG a fisherman required monitoring on sands. CG Holyhead and CG Fleetwood discussed possible MISPER, Passing sloop asked for visual. ILB tasked, nothing was found, decided the sighting was possibly a seal. NCI No Yes
54291 27/07/2025 NCI Mablethorpe HMCG asked NCI to search for yacht, but nothing seen. Vessel had an engine failure, and no wind. CG updated. MCA/HMCG No Yes
54300 27/07/2025 NCI Porthcawl MOP raised concern for paddle boarder at RNLI station. HMCG informed, and NCI asked to look for casualty. casualty located by NCI, with no apparent difficulty. Paddle boarder was observed to , return to shore without difficulty, CG updated. NFA. RNLI No Yes
54301 27/07/2025 NCI Porthcawl HMCG tasked ILB and CRT re. 2 children cut off by tide. CG asked NCI to do a camera scanILB recovered casualties to shore. All well. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
54282 27/07/2025 NCI Polruan MNCI observed a MOP fall close to lookout. NCI offered assistance, and decided they needed medical help. A call on 111 was made, a clinician phoned back after 60 mins, photos of injury sent, and , despite language difficulties, it was decided casualty should be driven to major hospital for treatment. 54284 27/07/2025 NCI Exmouth NCI received a call from a RIB with a broken pull cord. Casualty was located on CCTV, HMCG informed. CG called casualty, who had managed to start engine. NFA. NCI No Yes
54285 27/07/2025 NCI Newhaven HMCG called NCI re. report of person on cliff edge near the lookout. Police and ambulance had been tasked. NCI monitored situation, and updated CG. casualty was reported in a precarious position. , Police negotiator approached casualty, took him into custody, and removed him in a police vehicle. NFA. 54286 27/07/2025 NCI Exmouth NCI observed an inflatable, 4 POB, drifting towards sandbank. HMCG informed, monitoring requested. Harbour Master was informed, and a RIB was tasked. RIB refloated on rising tide, and casualties , and reached estuary and safety. CG updated. NCI No Yes

54260 25/07/2025 NCI Skegness A paddle board was drifting 300 mtrs offshore. HMCG tasked ILB which recovered casualties, and offered safety advice. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
54261 25/07/2025 NCI St Ives MOP informed NCI a young person was on the rocks close to coast path. HMCG informed, ambulance requested, W/K went on foot with radio to assess. Air ambulance on scene and casualty was taken to , hospital by land ambulance. NCI No Yes
54264 25/07/2025 NCI Hengistbury Head MOP advised NCI their dog had gone over the cliff, and was stuck half way down. HMCG informed, and during call, it was reported the dog had reached the base of the cliff, and a passer by had , the uninjured dog under control. NFA. NCI No Yes
