During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.


Please note: NCI Canvey Island was previously know as NCI Holehaven and moved location on Monday 18 October 2021. All NCI Canvey Island Incident Summaries before that date will be in respect of NCI Holehaven at its previous location.

53732 18/06/2025 NCI Polruan An extensive search over 2 days had been carried out for a missing vulnerable person, involving LBs, CRT and Police with negative results. An off duty W/K came across casualty off the coast path in a , confused and dehydrated state. HMCG informed, CRT, Police, ambulance and HELO tasked. 53695 18/06/2025 NCI Newhaven HMCG called NCI re. report from MOP of a paddle boarder in difficulty. NCI initiated search but saw nothing of concern. Monitoring continued until lookout closed, with nothing of concern seen. MCA/HMCG No Yes
53701 18/06/2025 NCI Penzance HMCG called NCI re. concern for a small dinghy off harbour, reported by MOP. NCI had logged dinghy, 2 POB, fishing and no sign of any problem. NFA. MCA/HMCG No Yes
53681 17/06/2025 NCI Hengistbury Head HMCG called NCI re. report from MOP of a RIB with engine trouble in harbour. ILB tasked by CG, and towed vessel and occupants back to LB station. All safe. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
53689 17/06/2025 NCI Calshot Tower yacht issued a Pan Pan - lone sailor struck by boom and injured. NCI had vessel on AIS, location supplied to HMCG. CG then issued May Day, ILB tasked. Police RIB also tasked. LB took casualty on, board, police RIB towed yacht to harbour. casualty was met by ambulance. HELO stood down. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
53692 17/06/2025 NCI Lee-on-the-Solent SART alert from a jetski was activated. NCI identified craft on CCTV. May Day call was then received - man overboard. NCI gave HMCG position. Yacht identified source a jetski close to race buoy., ILB tasked and contacted jetski to inform them their beacon had been activated. All assets stood down. CRT met with owner at shore. 53672 16/06/2025 NCI Gosport HMCG issued a Pan Pan re. fishing vessel with engine failure. NCI had visual, CG informed and monitoring requested. Passing vessel established tow to safe harbour, CG updated, Pan Pan cancelled. MCA/HMCG No Yes
53680 15/06/2025 NCI Hornsea NCI observed a paddle boarder being carried at speed by a flood tide. HMCG informed. CRT attended lookout, inshore rescue boat launched. Casualty was escorted back to shore by rescue boat. NCI Yes Yes
53659 14/06/2025 NCI Lee-on-the-Solent MOP called NCI re. windsurfer thought to be in difficulty. casualty not visible. W/Ks walked to establish visual, and casualty exited water without assistance. 53657 13/06/2025 NCI Lyme Bay HMCG asked NCI to search for an inflatable, 3 POB, reported to be in trouble. NCI located it on CCTV. occupants seemed okay. CG asked NCI to monitor. 2 occupants swam ashore, other paddled , the dinghy ashore. All safe, no assistance needed. MCA/HMCG No Yes
53673 13/06/2025 NCI Cromer NCI heard a short May Day on Ch16. Message was very faint. HMCG advised it was a possible hoax. NFA MCA/HMCG No Yes
53651 12/06/2025 NCI Calshot Tower NCI observed an inflatable, 1 POB, enter the water, then return and was abandoned on shore. Dinghy then drifted away, HMCG informed, and they contacted VTS to arrange collection. Dinghy was then , retrieved by a RIB, 3 POB, then tased to a different position, and thrown into water. CG updated. Dinghy was then recovered by Port Patrol. Unable to contact original occupant of dinghy. NCI No Yes
53646 11/06/2025 NCI Shoreham MOP called NCI re. person cut off by tide. Advised to ring 999 and ask for HMCG. NCI advised CG, ILB tasked and recovered casualty to be met by CRT. NCI Yes Yes
53814 11/06/2025 NCI Nells Point NCI observed 2 MOP stranded on island with causeway flooding. HMCG advised Casualties attempted to cross, but went back. ILB tasked, and recovered casualties and two dogs, all safe. NCI Yes Yes

53639 11/06/2025 NCI Worms Head NCI observed 2 MOP on causeway, which was closed. No response to siren , or loudhailer. HMCG advised, CRT, ILB and HELO tasked. ILB could not reach casualties due to rocks, HELO winched casualties to safety, second ILB had arrived by then. , Casualties discharged by paramedic. NCI Yes Yes

53633 10/06/2025 NCI Gosport Vessel called on Ch16 to inform HMCG it was drifting . NCI established visual, and informed CG it was drifting towards main channel. Pan Pan issued. Harbour Master informed. vessel then restarted, engine and returned to harbour. MCA/HMCG No Yes
53634 10/06/2025 NCI Southend NCI observed 2 jetskis, 1 with 2 POB circled other, 1 POB. HMCG informed, first jets left scene, ILB approached casualty, CG updated. 53606 06/06/2025 NCI Stone Point Pan Pan issued by yacht with loss of steering. NCI advised HMCG they had visual, 7 POB, sails down and anchor deployed. Vessel appeared to be aground. ILB and CRT tasked, but LB unable to refloat , vessel. Vessel then refloated, but with some water ingress, and was towed to harbour by LB. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
53580 06/06/2025 NCI Needles May Day from yacht reporting man overboard. HMCG called NCI, who could see vessel but not casualty. Vessel then radioed to say casualty had been recovered but were concerned for their health. CH HELO , and AWLB tasked, with doctor and nurse on board. casualty reported to be stable, so LB escorted vessel back to port, and CRT transferred casualty to ambulance. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes

53548 02/06/2025 NCI Hengistbury Head NCI heard a call from yacht with a broken forestay, and informed HMCG they had visual, and were asked to monitor. vessel lowered foresail, and proceeded.
