During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.


Please note: NCI Canvey Island was previously know as NCI Holehaven and moved location on Monday 18 October 2021. All NCI Canvey Island Incident Summaries before that date will be in respect of NCI Holehaven at its previous location.

54568 12/08/2025 NCI Porthcawl HMCG asled NCI to search bay for paddle boarder possibly in difficulty. ILB tasked. MOP also reported incident to NCI, told LB was on its way. ILB reached casualty, who had self rescued. NFA MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
54537 11/08/2025 NCI Folkestone MOP called NCI re. a swimmer struggling. HMCG informed, caller then called to report situation getting worse, CG updated. CRT tasked, and swimmer located, NCI had by then closed watch. NCI No Yes
54538 11/08/2025 NCI Folkestone NCI informed HMCG 10 people were tombstoning off pier. 4 further tombstones were then seen on harbour entrance, CRT tasked. All tombstones jumped, CG updated. Assets unavailable so harbour, authorities informed. Tombstoners then left area. NCI No Yes
54539 11/08/2025 NCI Newhaven NCI heard radio traffic from jetski with propulsion problems. HMCG were informed by NCI. Vessel was drifting, with people on board who had been towed on a tube. Swimmer went out and helped , them ashore, everyone safely on the beach. Vessel was towed to harbour by pilot vessel. NCI No Yes
54516 11/08/2025 NCI Felixstowe Off duty W/K reported to NCI a yacht had run aground. Visual established, HMCG informed. Small boat arrived and was seen to pull yacht off knoll, CG informed vessel now refloated. NFA NCI No Yes
54519 11/08/2025 NCI Porthcawl LGs asked NCI for camera view of a paddle boarder a long way off shore. Sadly camera was not operating. HMCG informed of concerns, ILB tasked. LB reached casualty, and recovered them to beach. RNLI No Yes
54528 11/08/2025 NCI Bembridge CRT advised NCI 2 persons next to paddle boards appeared to be signalling for help. HMCG informed, 2 other paddle boarders were heading to casualties. 54507 10/08/2025 NCI Mablethorpe LGs informed NCI of 2 missing children, Police also present. LGs then called to say children had been found and returned to parents. RNLI No Yes
55019 10/08/2025 NCI Llandudno A MOP collapsed close to lookout, and a second MOP called for an ambulance. NCI monitored casualty, who was deteriorating. NCI called ambulance again to reprioritise, but due to delay, casualty was, taken to hospital by car. Police attended, ambulance updated. Ambulance No No
54509 10/08/2025 NCI Porthcawl LGs phoned NCI re. report from MOP of a despondent person near cliff edge. NCI observed a MOP approach casualty and escort them away from cliff. HMCG informed, monitoring requested. , ILB tasked to check cliffs, Police and CRT on scene. No sign of casualty or second person, who had been seen walking away from scene. Assets stood down. 54511 10/08/2025 NCI Brancaster NCI observed 6 MOP cut off by tide on island. One tried to swim but returned as current too strong. HMCG informed, Hovercraft and CRT tasked. $ casualties waded across,, neck deep, and were met by CRT. Remaining couple were recovered by 2 paddle boarders. CRT offered safety advice. NCI No Yes
54517 10/08/2025 NCI St Donat's Bay Motor vessel was observed by NCI to be towing what appeared to be an old trawler. Large commercial vessel reported vessels were drifting towards them. HMCG informed, and contacted towing vessel. , Towing vessel then reported the towed vessel was sinking. NCI extended watch, and towed vessel then sank. CG updated. NCI No Yes
54564 10/08/2025 NCI Gorleston NCI observed a distressed person on sea side of pier barrier. HMCG informed, CRT and ILB tasked. Second person took casualty to a car to take him home, CG updated. CRT made contact and , casualty was taken to hospitably ambulance. NCI Yes Yes
54493 09/08/2025 NCI Brancaster Off duty W/K observed an unmanned boat drifting . HMCG informed, CRT tasked to attend lookout. Vessel spotted, CG updated, and ILB tasked. Vessel was towed to port by LB and handed over to , harbour master. Assets stood down. NCI Yes Yes
54494 09/08/2025 NCI Southend HMCG tasked CRT to wind foiler in difficulty. NCI advised CG they had visual, monitoring requested. Hovercraft tasked, recovered casualty to shore, no injuries. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
54495 09/08/2025 NCI Boscastle NCI observed a yacht, in adverse conditions, potentially heading for harbour, which would not be navigable due to tide. HMCG informed, who attempted to contact vessel without success. Vessel then, changed course, raised its foresail, and proceeded on its way. NFA. NCI No Yes
54504 09/08/2025 NCI Teignmouth NCI observed 2 paddle boarders being carried out to sea on offshore wind. LGs informed, HMCG aware. LGs launch jetski, and tow casualties to beach. All safe. NCI No Yes
54505 09/08/2025 NCI Filey NCI observed a paddle boarder fall off and was unable to regain board. HMCG informed, LGs set out on board to rescue casualty. Casualty did manage to return to the beach unaided, all well. NCI No Yes

54492 09/08/2025 NCI Cleethorpes MOP brought a lost child to the lookout. Child gave NCI details and Police informed. During call, mother arrived at lookout, and after checks, was reunited with child. NFA. NCI No Yes
54481 08/08/2025 NCI Brancaster NCI observed 3 children on island, about to be cut off by tide. HMCG informed, monitoring requested. All three children realised they were cut off, and swam back to shore. No injuries. NCI No Yes
54482 08/08/2025 NCI Brancaster MOP informed NCI a person was taking surreptitious photos of young girls. Police informed, and asked NCI to keep a watch for perpetrator. No further sightings were made . NFA NCI No Yes
54489 08/08/2025 NCI Rhoscolyn MOP approached NCI for assistance for a climber, who had fallen and was still attached to his rope. The casualty had managed to clamber back up the cliff. HMCG informed, CRT tasked. Casualty was , short of breath with rib pain. It was decided his colleagues would transport him to hospital by car. CG updated. NCI No Yes
54491 08/08/2025 NCI Charmouth MOP reported to NCI a lost child. He was walking on coast path without a phone. HMCG informed, advised to report to Police. Police informed, then mother reported to NCI child had been found safe. , CG and Police updated. NCI No Yes
54464 07/08/2025 NCI Exmouth NCI informed HMCG a kite surfer was struggling one mile offshore. CG tasked ILB, which was on exercise, to check, and was conned to casualty by NCI. ILB advised casualty was fine - NFA. NCI Yes Yes
54448 06/08/2025 NCI Rame Head MOP reported to NCI a person had collapsed on coast path. HMCG informed, CRT tasked. Visual via camera established. Ambulance arrived, CRT attended casualty, and helped them to the ambulance. , Casualty taken to hospital by ambulance. NCI No Yes
54450 06/08/2025 NCI St Agnes Head Pan Pan from RIB, 2POB, with loss of engine power. NCI established visual, HMCG informed, monitoring requested. ILB and AWLB tasked, ILB undertook initial tow, and then passed on to AWLB. , NCI updated CG. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
54451 06/08/2025 NCI Gosport NCI observed a Man Overboard from a yacht entering harbour. Casualty had a lifejacket. HMCG informed. Second vessel recovered casualty, CG informed. CG HELO was in area but not required. , Ambulance met casualty at marina. NCI No Yes
54452 06/08/2025 NCI Lee-on-the-Solent MOP informed NCI a truck and trailer with jets on was driving at speed on the beach, with concern for life. W/K attended and spoke to driver, and Police were informed. Police arrived, vehicle had left, and jets refused to come ashore. HMCG informed of incident. Marine police were tasked. Apparently this was one of several incidents with this vehicle, and jetski. Police seized vehicle and jetski. NCI No Yes
54458 06/08/2025 NCI Worms Head MOP reported to NCI remains on causeway. HMCG informed, and spoke to MOP, photos sent. CRT tasked, and discussed with CG, who confirmed they were marine remains. NCI No Yes
54459 06/08/2025 NCI Teignmouth May Day issued by cabin cruiser, smoke from engine compartment, 3 POB. HMCG responded. Nearby vessel responded, confirmed prop fouled on crab pot and engine overheated. No fire. CG called NCI , requesting visual - confirmed but distant. Weather conditions supplied. ILB tasked, F.V attended and removed crab pot and took casualty under tow. ILB arrived, transferred crew, and towed vessel to , safety of port. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
54461 06/08/2025 NCI Torbay NCI observed a paddle boarder, no buoyancy aid, fall off board. HMCG informed, monitoring requested. Casualty managed to sit on board, then moved out of sight. CRT tasked, and established visual. , CRT made contact with casualty, still out of sight of NCI, who was by then on beach. Apparently he had been snorkelling, giving the impression he was unconscious. All safe. NCI No Yes
54462 06/08/2025 NCI Hengistbury Head NCI observed a kite surfer unable to remount board. NCI called HMCG and suggested ILB, which was on exercise, check on casualty. LB found casualty to be fine, NFA. NCI Yes Yes
54430 04/08/2025 NCI Porthcawl LGs tried to call NCI but call inaudible. HMCG had been informed of a swimmer in difficulty, ILB tasked. CG asked NCI to search area, and during search CG rang to say swimmer had been located., Casualty had become separated from others and self rescued. LB cancelled. RNLI Yes Yes
54378 03/08/2025 NCI Shoreham NCI observed a capsized catamaran, with crew in water and having difficulty righting vessel. HMCG informed, ILB tasked, and LB asked NCI for an update. Casualty vessel was towed to harbour by ILB., It was then handed over to sailing club boat. All safe. NCI Yes Yes
