During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.

57172 25/05/2026 NCI Filey MOP informed NCI there was a lost child on the beach, mother was frantic. HMCG informed, CRT tasked. After extensive search, child was found, assets stood down. NCI No Yes
57175 25/05/2026 NCI Southend CRT asked NCI to search with camera for a missing child. casualty was located by pubic toilets, CRT informed, and confirmed it was the MISPER. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57176 25/05/2026 NCI Newhaven HMCG called NCI re. report from MOP of an unattended paddle board. Visual requested, nothing seen, and continued monitoring requested until lookout closed. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57196 25/05/2026 NCI Hornsea NCI observed 2 people on a motorbike riding among crowds on the promenade. Police were informed, and deployed to scene. NCI No No
57164 24/05/2026 NCI Portland Bill Hotel called NCI re. a paddle board with 4 POB possibly getting stuck in the mud. HMCG advised. Hotel then called to say the casualties were out of sight. Incident was closed as no further sightings , were made. NCI No Yes
57167 24/05/2026 NCI Portland Bill HMCG received a partial 999 call from MOP but last part of message lost. CG asked NCI to do a visual sweep, nothing seen. NFA. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57153 24/05/2026 NCI Shoreham HMCG called NCI re. report from MOP of an object in the water, visual requested. NCI reported object appeared to be a piece of wood. 57156 24/05/2026 NCI Hengistbury Head HMCG called NCI asking for visual on a vessel, possibly stolen. Pan Pan issued. CG then confirmed no further action was required. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57139 23/05/2026 NCI Nells Point NCI informed HMCG a person was standing in the water on the edge of the causeway. Monitoring requested. ILB tasked as it was on exercise. Person was an exoperienced fisherman, aware of the danger. , NFA NCI Yes Yes
57146 23/05/2026 NCI Llandudno NCI observed 3 MOP plus dog walking onto sandbank, with tide coming in behind them. Loudhailer used but not heard. HMCG informed, CRT tasked.Loudhailer was used again, and this time was heard and , casualties returned to shore. NCI No Yes
57147 23/05/2026 NCI Canvey Island HMCG tasked ILB following report of 6 casualties, one possibly drowning, following report on 999 to ambulance service by MOP. CRT tasked to scene. NCI inform CG they are monitoring scene. , CRT reported 2 incidents were ongoing, CG HELO found 1 person with a cut foot. After extensive search nothing else was found. Assets stood down. 57158 23/05/2026 NCI Froward Point HMCG called NCI asking them to look out for a paddle boarder, who had left beach two hours earlier. casualty located, CG informed. Nearby vessel asked to investigate. A RIB recovered casualty and , returned them to safety. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57138 22/05/2026 NCI Southend HMCG called NCI asking to look out for a vulnerable person walking close to lookout. Nothing seen, CRT attended lookout. Extensive search revealed nothing - inconclusive outcome. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57140 22/05/2026 NCI Lee-on-the-Solent A child arrived at NCI, having lost their mother. W/K tried phoning mother - no response. Mother was located, correctly gave Childs details, and was reunited with child. NCI No No
57133 21/05/2026 NCI Bass Point HMCG called NCI asking for visual on a yacht with a medical emergency on board. NCI did not have visual due to bad visibility, full weather conditions supplied. AWLB tasked, located vessel, took , casualty on board, and returned to station to meet ambulance. 2 LB crew took yacht back to harbour. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
57136 21/05/2026 NCI Swanage NCI observed a RIB, travelling at speed, which hit a wave and the occupant was ejected from the boat. The RIB continued and crashed onto the Beach.One person in the water, wearing a buoyancy aid, , was recovered by second RIB. Boat on the beach caught fire, AWLB, ILB and CRT tasked. Fire service also attended. The RIB was allowed to burn out on the beach, casualty uninjured. NCI Yes Yes
57157 21/05/2026 NCI Teignmouth HMCG issued a May Day re. a vessel on fire. Fishing vessels nearby responded. CG asked NCI for visual, nothing visible. Nearby vessels confirmed there was no vessel on fire. It transpired it was a F.V, starting engines, and smoke was mistaken by MOP as a fire. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57112 19/05/2026 NCI Shoreham H<CG called NCI re. report from a MOP of a small motor vessel possibly in trouble. Small vessel located, close to shore. CRT attended lookout, vessel was okay. NFA. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57124 19/05/2026 NCI Cleethorpes NCI were informed of a deer stuck in mud close to station. NCI called wildlife rescue, left message. RSPCA unable to assist. Wildlife rescue attended with a drone. Drone photos showed deer not stuck, or trapped, and ground too unstable to approach. Wildlife rescue returned later to find deer curled up asleep. NFA. NCI No No
57145 19/05/2026 NCI Mablethorpe HMCG. Police and RNLI were involved in a MISPER incident, and NCI observed a female matching description in a car park. 4 males were seen to approach, speak then walk to beach. Police attended, , established an offence of indecent exposure, NCI maintained observation of males, who were arrested by police and detained. Police Yes Yes
57109 19/05/2026 NCI St Ives NCI observed 2 kite/foil boarders attempting a passage to Newquay. One appeared in trouble, and returned to beach. second board was out of sight. HMCG were informed of concern. First boarder , informed NCI the second boarder was experienced, had a radio, and was continuing, and that CG were aware of their intentions. Info passed to St Agnes head NCI. NCI No Yes
57111 19/05/2026 NCI Porthcawl NCI heard 3 May Day calls on Ch16, HMCG advised - they also heard them. This was a follow up to I/R 57106 the previous day. CG issued Pan Pan but nothing heard. NCI No Yes
57113 18/05/2026 NCI Hengistbury Head HMCG called NCI re. a yacht with a broken rudder, vessel located by NCI. 2 POB, Pan Pan was issued. NCI stayed open late to monitor situation. ILB tasked and towed vessel to safety of harbour. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
57096 18/05/2026 NCI Felixstowe NCI observed a yacht aground, and on its side. HMCG informed, but already aware. Monitoring requested, as vessel should refloat on tide. Harbour Master attempted to refloat casualty with a rope., Vessel eventually was refloated and towed into river. NCI No Yes
57105 18/05/2026 NCI Prawle Point NCI observed a lone kayaker in a moderate swell, and then lost sight. HMCG informed of concern, ILB tasked. LB located kayaker, who was experienced, and not in trouble. NFA NCI Yes Yes
57106 18/05/2026 NCI Porthcawl NCI heard a voice May Day on Ch 16, no further details, HMCG informed. CG called all vessels asking for detail, Pan Pan issued. Further May Days were heard, also heard by local lifeguards. , Initial Pan Pan was cancelled, then a second one issued. 57107 18/05/2026 NCI Porthcawl HMCG requested information from any vessel re. concern for a para glider. CG called NCI asking for a scan. ILB tasked to location, and found a bunch of balloons, which had been mistaken for casualty , by MOP. NFA. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
57075 17/05/2026 NCI Charmouth HMCG called NCI e. call about a swimmer in difficulty. Search requested. Nothing was seen buy NCI, ILB tasked, located casualty who was fine, CRT attended when they reached shore. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57081 17/05/2026 NCI Worms Head NCI observed a MOP cut off after causeway was closed. HMCG informed, monitoring requested. CRT tasked, casualty was reported to be fishing, NFA. NCI No Yes
57083 17/05/2026 NCI Shoreham MOP reported to NCI a large floating object. - object was located by CCTV, HMCG informed. NCI called a passing yacht, and it found a drifting wind kite, which had been reported lost. Item was , recovered by yacht, and left at NCI for owner to collect. NCI No Yes
57085 17/05/2026 NCI Skegness HMCG called NCI asking then to monitor 2 swimmers, - NCI responded they had been under observation and appeared fine. NCI monitored swimmers until they left the water. NFA MCA/HMCG No Yes
57086 17/05/2026 NCI Porthcawl NCI became aware of a search for a missing vulnerable child, CRT attending. NCI offered a search with CCTV. Police and HELO also involved in search. Search area was expanded, and then it was , reported child had been found and was safe with parents. NFA. MCA/HMCG No Yes
57144 17/05/2026 NCI Mablethorpe HMCG tasked ILB to a person acting strangely near waters edge, following a report from MOP. NCI offered visual, person located, with a second person and 2 dogs, but not casualty. Person of interest , then was located in a car park, CRT and Police involved. Casualty then got stuck on rock, appeared intoxicated, was recovered by CRT and taken to hospital by ambulance. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
57087 17/05/2026 NCI Fleetwood NCI observed 2 wind surfers, 1 of which appeared to be in difficulty. HMCG informed, casualties buddy entered water to assist, and both returned safely to shore. NFA NCI No Yes
57068 16/05/2026 NCI Charlestown HMCG called NCI re. report from MOP of a kite surfer in difficulty. NCI monitored surfer, CG considered tasking ILB, then casualty reached shore unaided, CG updated. NFA. MCA/HMCG Yes Yes
57065 16/05/2026 NCI Filey NCI observed 2 MOP in difficulty, cut off by tide. Child was distressed. HMCG informed, and kayaker approached casualties and indicated a safe route out. Casualties were seen to move towards the safe , route, as indicated by kayaker, and reached safety. CG updated. NCI No Yes
57076 16/05/2026 NCI Shoreham NCI called MCG re. small dinghy, 3 POB, no lifejackets, which appeared in trouble;le in the conditions. ILB, which was on exercise, escorted dinghy back to safety of the harbour. NCI Yes Yes
57066 16/05/2026 NCI Charlestown HMCG called NCI asking if they had recorded a drifting kayak - negative. CRT then told NCI a kayak and paddle had been found on the beach, and gave details if owner appeared. A moored yacht was , contacted by CG, and kayak turned out to be stolen from alongside yacht and then abandoned. NFA MCA/HMCG No Yes
