During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.


Please note: NCI Canvey Island was previously know as NCI Holehaven and moved location on Monday 18 October 2021. All NCI Canvey Island Incident Summaries before that date will be in respect of NCI Holehaven at its previous location.

55022 17/09/2025 NCI Lee-on-the-Solent NCI informed HMCG a yacht had lost its foresail and power close to lookout. Monitoring requested. Vessel the issued Pan Pan - prop tangled and drifting. ILB tasked, and then a second ILB offered to , attend. A yacht started an initial tow, which was taken over by LB, and was towed to harbour by LB. All well. Pan Pan cancelled. NCI No Yes
55029 17/09/2025 NCI Penzance HMCG called re.call from MOP of 2 paddle boarders in difficulty. Visibility poor so visual not established, but search agreed if it improved. Search revealed nothing, and CG then reported the, casualties had reached shore safely. MCA/HMCG No Yes

54991 15/09/2025 NCI Exmouth NCI heard call from HMCG trying to locate a fishing vessel. No response. NCI confirmed to CG they had visual, and vessel was under way. Vessel on AIS. NFA MCA/HMCG No Yes
54993 15/09/2025 NCI Swanage NCI observed a motor cruiser drifting, no crew visible. HMCG informed, position supplied. Local RIB went to vessel, put a crew member on board, and both vessels returned to moorings. NCI No Yes

54968 10/09/2025 NCI Porthcawl NCI observed a life ring floating among debris. HMCG informed.NCI then updated CG that the object had reached shore, and a MOP had brought it to the lookout. CRT collected , life ring, no person seen during search of area, NFA. NCI No Yes
54976 10/09/2025 NCI Porthcawl NCI were monitoring 2 surfers in difficult conditions. One returned to shore, but HMCG called to say a MOP had reported one was in distress. Search requested. 54939 08/09/2025 NCI Portland Bill NCI observed a yacht in tidal race, uncomfortable but not in distress. HMCG then called NCI as it had been reported to be in trouble by a MOP. Update given, vessel extricated itself from race and , returned to safety of port. MCA/HMCG No Yes
54930 07/09/2025 NCI Boscastle NCI observed a MOP on cliffs, appeared unsteady, and having an agitated phone conversation. Casualty then removed clothing from backpack and continued phone conversation. CRT tasked., CRT arrived, advised NCI the casualty was well known to them, and was behaving typically. 54896 06/09/2025 NCI Needles NCI observed 6 kayaks, unable to progress, HMCG informed. Monitoring requested. Kayaks then changed course to calmer water, and although off course, were much safer. NCI updated CG, and the , Station was then closed down for the evening. NFA. NCI No Yes
